The College of Education for Women, Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a training workshop titled “Drug Prevention: Community Awareness and Shared Responsibility”, delivered by Dr. Maisoon Hamed Taher and Dr. Azhar Hadi Rashid.

The workshop addressed the concept of drugs, causes of abuse, and the importance of prevention as a collective responsibility, highlighting the role of community awareness and institutions in limiting spread while reviewing effective strategies against addiction. The speakers emphasized strengthening awareness, expanding cooperation among educational, health, and religious institutions, supporting outreach programs and research, and leveraging modern technology to promote prevention culture.

This initiative reflects the College’s commitment to advancing community awareness, enhancing educational skills, and improving the quality of teaching and learning. It supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being).
