The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering, in collaboration with the Continuing Education and Career Development Units, organized a scientific workshop titled “Comprehensive Lecture on the Bologna Process” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Riam Rahim Jabbar.
The workshop introduced the concept of the Bologna Process and explored its implementation mechanisms within higher education institutions. It highlighted the system’s key advantages in shaping academic pathways, particularly through the adoption of the credit-based structure and the promotion of flexibility in the learning process. These features aim to elevate the quality of educational outcomes and align them with international standards.
Discussions emphasized the importance of expanding awareness activities on the Bologna Process across all study levels, alongside preparing simplified guides to help students understand its requirements and application methods. The workshop also underscored the role of academic advising in supporting students within this framework and called for leveraging global best practices to adapt the system effectively to the local educational environment.
This initiative contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4 (Quality Education), by advancing inclusive and globally benchmarked learning.
