The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad has enriched its academic library with a significant scholarly achievement through the publication of a new textbook titled “Strategy: Contemporary Concepts and Perspectives.” The book was authored by Professor Dr. Ammar Hamid Yassin, Professor Dr. Dina Mohammed Jabr, and Professor Dr. Suhad Ismail Khalil, a faculty member at the College of Political Science, Al-Nahrain University.

This publication represents a notable contribution to the field of strategic studies, combining theoretical frameworks with applied approaches. It explores a range of contemporary concepts such as strategic planning, strategic thinking, foresight, and forecasting, while also offering modern analyses of major issues in international relations including global crises, warfare, and deterrence strategies.

The book is distinguished by its expansion beyond narrow military theory toward broader approaches in state governance and decision-making. It provides strategic leaders, policymakers, and researchers with advanced knowledge tools to address contemporary challenges through systematic and anticipatory analysis.

Moreover, the book contributes to expanding the knowledge base for undergraduate and graduate students in political science by offering content that balances theoretical depth with practical relevance, enhancing students’ analytical skills and capacity for future-oriented thinking.
