The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Baghdad took part in the proceedings of the 13th International Scientific Conference organized by the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mansoura University, held under the theme “Advancing Veterinary Medicine through Artificial Intelligence: Emerging Trends and Future Opportunities.”
The college was represented by Professor Dr. Hamid Ali Kazem, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Hamid Al-Bayati, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs and Undergraduate Studies. Both participated in the conference sessions, which were attended by representatives of the United Nations’ World Organisation for Animal Health, along with a number of academic and professional leaders from across the Arab world and internationally.
During their contributions, participants emphasized that artificial intelligence has become a cornerstone of progress across various fields, particularly in veterinary medicine, which extends beyond animal care to serve as a safeguard for public health and a guarantee of food security.
On the sidelines of the conference, a scientific and academic memorandum of understanding was signed between the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Baghdad and its counterpart at Mansoura University. This agreement aims to strengthen research and academic collaboration among Arab universities, enabling the exchange of expertise and joint participation in scientific projects. It marks the beginning of an active partnership that supports the advancement of veterinary education and research at both the regional and international levels.
This activity contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4, which advocates for quality education, and Goal 17, which promotes partnerships for the goals.
