The administration of the Center for Research and the Natural History Museum at the University of Baghdad welcomed a delegation of foreign tourists from South Korea and the United States. Dr. Suhad Yassin Jassim, Assistant Lecturer Noor Hussein Youssef, Assistant Lecturer Khalida Ibrahim Hassoun, and Assistant Lecturer Ali Kamel Wanas received the visitors. The delegation was accompanied during their tour by Senior Agricultural Engineer Ms. Batool Abdul Redha Kareem.
During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the significance of the Center and its rich biological and geological diversity. This was showcased through scientific surveys and field expeditions conducted by faculty members from various disciplines, aimed at covering the scientific aspects of preserving Iraq’s environment and biodiversity. The center’s efforts were presented through artistic displays of biological specimens in the exhibition hall and through the scientific research it produces.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation expressed their appreciation for witnessing such a scientific institution with deep historical roots, rich in knowledge and natural diversity, and praised the methods used for scientifically preserving and storing specimens within the exhibition hall.
This activity contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 17, which promotes partnerships for the realization of global objectives.
