The Department of Sociology at the College of Education for Women, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific workshop titled: “Domestic Labor and Its Impact on the Iraqi Family,” presented by Assist.Prof.Dr. Muna Haider Abdul Jabbar and Assist.Prof.Mohammed Hameed Alwan.
The workshop aimed to analyze the impact of domestic labor on the daily life of families, study the effect of domestic labor on family relationships, and identify the challenges and difficulties that families may face as a result of employing domestic labor.
The event concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which include increasing awareness of the rights and duties of domestic workers through educational campaigns, encouraging understanding and interaction between family members and domestic workers through joint activities, establishing mechanisms to ensure the rights, safety, and health of domestic workers, and promoting the use of professional cleaning services instead of relying on unqualified domestic labor.
