The volleyball team of the University of Baghdad obtained the first place in the National Universities Championship, organized by the Department of Student Activities at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, within the campus of the University of Basra. The championship witnessed the participation of 40 teams representing governmental and private universities across Iraq.
In the final match held at the Southern Technical University Hall, the University of Baghdad team emerged victorious over the University of Anbar, clinching the game with a three-set sweep. Subsequently, the University of Baghdad team was honored with the National Universities Championship Cup along with several accolades, notably including the recognition of Mr.Hussein Haider Muatuq, a player from the University of Baghdad, as the tournament’s top scorer.
On his part, the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, expressed his congratulations to the volleyball team, emphasizing that their outstanding performances throughout the tournament deservedly earned them the first-place title.
It is worth mentioning that this success comes as a result of the significant support provided by the university’s administration for these sports activities. This support is epitomized by Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, the President of the University of Baghdad, and Dr. Amir Faisal Abdul Amir, the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs.
