The University of Baghdad concluded the fifty-sixth session of the Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, in the presence of heads of Arab and international organizations, and with the participation of various local and Arab universities.

The course included the announcement of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, calling for the establishment and declaration of the Arab Higher Education Zone, focusing on means to raise the outputs of Arab universities, reducing the gap between Arab education spaces and opening the way for productive interaction with sober educational environments.

The symposium witnessed the signing of several memorandums of understanding between Iraqi and Arab universities, including the provision of a number of free scholarships to Iraq, opening the door for scientific and academic cooperation between universities, as well as granting development courses for teachers and researchers.

For his part, the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, confirmed that the fifty-sixth session, which was hosted by Iraq, achieved a large attendance rate in terms of Arab participation rates, as well as a number of memorandums of understanding signed by Arab universities with Iraq. He pointed out that the conference discussed over two days a number of important topics on the reports of the achievements of the General Secretariat of the Union, depending on the implementation of the decisions taken, and the effectiveness of the platform for managing the publication of scientific journals.
