The College of Arts at the University of Baghdad commemorated the first anniversary of the late writer and Islamic thinker Salah Al-Kharsan, in the presence of former Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki and a number of political, academic, and literary figures in Iraq.

During the memorial speech, Prof.Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, mentioned that the late deceased was an important symbol of the literary and documentary movement opposed to the previous regime. He also highlighted that the University of Baghdad, represented by Prof.Dr.Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, directed the naming of one of the academic halls in the College of Arts after the historian Salah Al-Kharsan, as a tribute to his noble literary and jihadist career in the history of Iraq.

The commemorative event included visual presentations showcasing the personal journey of the deceased, while his colleagues in the political and literary field presented numerous humanitarian and scholarly anecdotes about him during their time working with him.
