Elaf Mahdi Saleh Abdul Qader, a graduate student in the Department of Public Relations at the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad, achieved first place in the master’s research category at the Fifth International Student Media Forum, organized by the College of Communication at Al Qasimia University in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

The research, titled “Employing Persuasive Strategies in Media Writing on Climate Change Issues – An Analytical Study of Women Journalists for Climate Facebook Page”, was selected as the best research in the master’s category after competing with hundreds of researchers representing different countries around the world.

The Dean of the College of Media at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Ammar Taher, commented on this scientific achievement of the researcher in the Department of Public Relations, saying: “The achievement of the first place by our college student is a qualitative achievement, and proves the quality of education and training provided to graduate students, as well as reflecting our commitment to developing students’ capabilities and enabling them to achieve academic and professional success.”

It is worth noting that the Fifth International Student Media Forum was held on (February 14, 2024) under the slogan “Our Environment is Our Responsibility” and witnessed the participation of (18) countries around the world, where the number of participants reached (421) participants from (26) international universities. The research and topics presented in it varied to include a different set of media and communication issues in the digital age.
