The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr.Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, attended the National Conference on Green Education at Al-Farahidi University.  The conference was graced by the presence of the Acting Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, alongside several parliamentary members, UNESCO representatives, international organizations, university vice presidents, and deans of both governmental and private colleges.

In a speech, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi highlighted the importance of Iraq’s international partnership with UNESCO in promoting green education, achieving sustainable development goals, and tackling environmental challenges. Al-Aboudi underscored Iraq’s role in a global partnership with UNESCO in green education, stressing the need to focus on a sustainable future built on higher education as a vital pillar for achieving development goals and addressing environmental challenges.

 Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, and Chairman of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, Dr. Mazahim Al-Khayat, commended the scientific progress made by Iraqi higher education and scientific research institutions, the elevation in global rankings, and the establishment of productive partnerships in the field of green education. Additionally, Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahad, the Ministry’s representative for scientific research affairs, and Mr. Tame Mizoun, the UNESCO representative, presented on sustainable development pathways and scientific research indicators in this domain. Furthermore, the conference reiterated the commitment to earnestly develop curricula and provide scientific and laboratory resources, forming an integrated roadmap to confront future challenges.
