The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Baghdad has secured the third position in the Middle East ranking for Arab universities within the SC Imago ranking for scientific academic institutions.

In a speech Dr. Hameed Ali Kazim, Dean of the college mentioned, “The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Baghdad has secured the first position in Iraq, the third in the Arab region among 54 universities, and the third in the Middle East out of 111 universities. Globally, it achieved the 172nd position out of 831 universities.” He elaborated that “the ranking relies on vital data emanating from the College of Veterinary Medicine and a ranking system related to scientific research performance, innovation outcomes, and societal impact. This provides distinctive insights into the global standing of academic and research institutions.”

He noted that “the College of Veterinary Medicine maintained its top positions in the ranking of Iraqi universities, transitioning from the 15th position in 2022 to the 3rd position in the Arab region in 2023.” He emphasized that “the college’s aim is not only to advance in global rankings but also to take significant steps toward a distinctive vision in global academic leadership.”
