The Fourth International Scientific Conference on Climate and Environmental Changes and their Impact on Women and Society was organized by the Women’s Studies Center at the University of Baghdad. The event saw the presence of the Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hameed Al-Saadi, Assistant Rector for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Marwan Abdul-Hameed Ashoor, Director of the Women’s Studies Center, Dr. Azraa Ismael, Director General of the National Iraqi Women’s Department, Dr. Bushra Kareem, Representative Ibtisam Al-Hilali and the representative of the Prime Minister, Dr. Farid Mustafa. It also gathered academics, researchers, and representatives from relevant institutions such as the Ministries of Health, Environment, and Education, as well as the Iraqi Cultural and Development Foundation.

The conference aimed to highlight the challenges and obstacles faced by women in the context of climate change, fostering collaboration between academic institutions to reach solutions through scientific studies and approaches. The conference encompassed various topics, including national strategies addressing climate change, sustainable development goals for environmental preservation, and addressing climate change. It also explored the climatic effects on women’s health. At the conclusion of the event, several attendees were honored with creativity awards and certificates of appreciation.
