After productive meetings between the two universities during the Iraqi-Iranian Science Week, led to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the University of Baghdad and Amirkabir University of Technology in Iran, in the framework of the two universities’ efforts to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by the two delegations by the Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Munir Hameed Al-Saadi, and the Rector of the Amirkabir University of Technology in Iran, Prof.Dr. Ali Alireza Rahai. It was agreed that the joint research teams would be in the disciplines of mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering, computers and materials, computer science, mathematics, instrumentation, and oil and gas engineering. It was also agreed to exchange teaching staff and involve faculty members in scientific journals at the two universities.
It is worth noting, that the Amirkabir University of Technology in Iran is considered one of the leading universities, securing the third position in the Shanghai Ranking of Universities It is also secured within the same ranking in many scientific and engineering disciplines.
