The Assistant Rector for Scientific Affairs, Prof.Dr.Marwan Ashoor alongside with the Manager of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University, Dr.Enas Khalifa, welcomed a delegation from the Chinese Embassy. The delegation was led by Mr. Chen Xi, Head of the Political Department at the Chinese Embassy in Baghdad, and Consul Wang Tuxue.

During the meeting, they discussed the activation of memorandum of understanding between the University of Baghdad and Chinese universities, enhancing mutual scientific and academic cooperation, implementing the visiting professor program, and fostering joint supervision initiatives. The Chinese delegation expressed their full readiness for collaboration and conveyed their delight at visiting the host university. Furthermore, the Peking University would like to visit our University to explore opportunities for shared cooperation and the organization of cultural and academic events.

In turn, Prof.Dr.Marwan emphasized the university’s desire for cooperation in developing laboratories, leveraging Chinese technological expertise in this field. He also encouraged Chinese students to benefit from the “Study in Iraq” program to study at Iraqi universities. At the same time, he called for the activation of the Chinese corner at the University of Baghdad and the organization of activities within it, indicating that the university aims to open a Chinese language department in the College of Languages at the University of Baghdad.

At the end of the meeting, the guest was honored with the university’s shield. The delegation expressed their delight in visiting the university, wishing for continued cultural and academic cooperation in service of the educational process between the two friendly countries.
