Assistant Rector for Scientific Affairs, Prof.Dr. Marwan Abdul Hameed Ashour, and the Manager of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Dr. Enas Khalifa received a delegation from the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils (FASRC) at the University of Baghdad’s Presidency. The delegation included several academics from Arab countries such as Tunisia, Jordan, Egypt and Yemen with the Secretary-General of FASRC leading the delegation and they were accompanied by Director of the Arab Organizations Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ammar Taha, and Director of the International Organizations Department in the Ministry, Dr. Muwafaq Sagit.
At the outset of the meeting, they discussed the possibility of reopening FASRC’s headquarters in the capital, Baghdad. They also explored agreements for student exchanges and the exchange of researchers with various Arab universities, as well as the prospect of conducting joint research and publishing it in accredited Arab journals to foster dynamism and effectiveness among Arab researchers. During their visit, a tour was organized at the College of Mass Communication to gain insights into the academic environment at the university. The distinguished guests had the opportunity to visit the college museum and the Media and Broadcasting Training Institute, expressing their happiness at being in one of the most prestigious Arab universities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Marwan Ashour extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, and the guests were honored with the University of Baghdad shield. The delegation also expressed their gratitude to the University of Baghdad for the warm reception and conveyed their hopes for continued scientific and academic communication between our Arab countries in general and Iraq in particular, in service of the educational process.
