A meeting was held with the Scholarship Investment Committee at the University of Baghdad, headed by Prof.Dr.Munir Al-Saadi,the Rector of University of Baghdad along with Prof.Dr.Marwan Ashour, Assistant Rector of the University of Baghdad, and Dr.Omar Faleh Hassan,the Manager of the Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Performance.
During the course of the meeting, they discussed important proposals for the development of research work at the University of Baghdad, in turn Al-Saadi stressed the pivotal role of scholarship students in developing the university and the importance to conveying the experiences that they gained from their studies in universities around the world to the University of Baghdad.
A highlight of the meeting was the agreement on a number of issues, including that scholarship students conduct workshops for professors and postgraduate students on research writing skills and citations practices, selecting refereed journals for publication, forming joint research teams between the University of Baghdad and scholarship universities, and joint supervision of postgraduate research by scholarship students and their supervisors at scholarship universities.
The convening of these meetings comes within the endeavors of our university to benefit from all scientific energies and expertise to develop research work at the university, upgrading in the educational level and raise the university’s global ranking to serve our country and achieve the goals of sustainable development.
