The rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr.Munir Al-Saadi, has received a delegation from British University of Dundee including Professor Ian Gillespie, Chancellor of the University of Dundee, Mr. Jason Norris , Strategic Partnerships Manager in the University, Dr. Hamed Al-Wakeel, Advisor of the Prime Minister, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Shawi, the Rector of Al-Nahrain University, Prof.Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghabban, the Rector of the University of Technology and a number of University Presidents and Deans of Colleges in Iraq.
During the meeting, they discussed the strategy of joint cooperation between the British University of Dundee and the University of Baghdad, opening fields of communication with British universities in general, exchanging experiences and student delegations that bring about a real change in education, and studying opportunities at the University of Dundee for students of the University of Baghdad and postgraduate studies.
Additionally, this visit comes within the endeavors of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to develop cultural cooperation with solid universities around the world, with the aim of making quantitative and qualitative changes in the scientific and cultural area in Iraq , as the data of global publication and the results of international rankings of Iraqi universities in general and the University of Baghdad in particular are in advanced stages that has some international accreditations.
