On the occasion of twenty-fifth anniversary of its founding , Al-Kindi College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad celebrated ,in the presence of His excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, the rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Al-Saadi, , the Dean of Al-Kindi College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Jalal, and the Director of the Baghdad Health Department, Rusafa, Dr. Jaseb Al-Hajami, representing the Minister of Health, and a huge number of Hospital directors, college deans, professors, and students.
In his speech on this occasion, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, confirmed that medical education is moving in the right direction and that medical colleges and their national council are taking deliberate steps towards international accreditation, adding that Iraq has been included since last March in the list of countries expected to obtain international accreditation. In turn, Prof.Dr. Munir Al-Saadi stated that moving towards accreditation of academic programs was important to consolidate the academic education environment in Iraq, especially in the medical specializations that have made their way towards global and solid international institutions.
During the ceremony a documentary film about the history of the college and the most prominent scientific and medical achievements was offered. The event also praised the pioneering and retired doctors who left an important mark on the medical jobs in Iraq. At the end of the events, the successive deans of Al-Kindi College of Medicine, representatives of health institutions and top students were honored.
