Assist.Prof.Aseel Haidar Mohammad Jawad, a professor at the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad, has obtained a patent from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC ),at the Ministry of Planning for Manufacturing of a material that can remineralize dentin decay using silver nanofluorides and sodium fluoride with amorphous calcium phosphate to treat dentine caries.
The patent aims to use Moringa herb extract and silver nitrate in the preparation of silver nanofluorides to treat and stop tooth decay in children. A certain percentage of Moringa extract and silver nitrate were mixed to prepare the material using the green synthesis method, the bacterial and toxic activity of the material was examined. The results showed the effectiveness of the substance in stopping tooth decay in children.
