The World Health Organization has accredited prof. Dr. Mohammed Wahib Salman al-Obaidi, a consultant of thoracic and respiratory diseases at the college of medicine, University of Baghdad,as one of the organization’s consultants for the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis, representing the Middle East, the Arab Gulf and North Africa. Dr. Al-Obaidi was nominated and selected to join the WHO in order to benefit from his scientific expertise and distinguished experiences and to achieve impressive results in Iraq in the field of tuberculosis control that will represent a quantum leap in the global control of the disease and its elimination by his future scientific contributions.
For his part, the Director-General of the WHO, Dr. Tedros Adhanom,expressed his thanks and appreciation to prof. Dr. Mohammed Wahib Salman al-Obaidi, for choosing him as a member of the WHO because of its commitment to a healthier, safer and more equitable future for all health and care affiliates.
