Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, the Rector of the University of Baghdad,has received at the Presidency of the University, His Excellency the Japanese Ambassador in Iraq, Mr. Futoshi Matsumoto. They discussed issues concerning the reinforcement of academic relations between Iraq and Japan and strengthening relations between Japanese universities and the University of Baghdad.
During the meeting, it was also agreed on four important axes; signing of memorandums of understanding between Japanese universities and university of Baghdad, the enhancement of Japanese language teaching and learning in Iraq through the University of Baghdad, and the development of a Japanese corner in the university’s central library to provide services to students and professors to achieve easier communication between the University of Baghdad and Japanese universities. At the end of the meeting, the Japanese ambassador expressed his pleasure with the positive results of the visit, calling for more effort to develop future cooperation prospects in order to serve the educational process between the two friendly countries.
