Prof. Dr. Munir Al- Saadi, the rector of the University of Baghdad, accompanied by the dean of the college of science, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Qazaz, has inaugurated the Annual Festival on the occasion of the World Math Day in the participation of a huge gathering of professors, students and those interested, also in the presence of the member of the Iraqi House of Representatives Madiha al-Musawi. This event aimed to introduce people to the role of mathematics in the community at various life fields, as well as the most problems and obstacles that may be confronted for the sake of finding solutions.

Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, the rector of the University of Baghdad has delivered an opening speech in which he congratulated the attendants in this occasion, stating that math is regarded as an essential pillar in the human culture and that it has contributed in different fields for being a well-known global language in its expressions and unified symbols for all. The festival included art exhibits, handicraft, inventions, scientific lectures, paintings made by the students, authored books and posters provided the faculty members and students of department. The rector expressed his admiration for such outputs and exhibits of the college of science, where he dedicated certificates of appreciation to the participants.
