The University of Baghdad won the first places in the Iraqi Universities Athletics Championship 2023 for male and female students, that was held on the stadiums of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences during the period (6-9/3/2023) sponsored by the Department of Student Activities with the participation of 60 Iraqi public and private universities attended by the rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr.Munir Al-Saadi
The student Athraa Nabil Jalal has got a new Iraqi record in the Discus Throw (68. 40 m.). At the end of this event, the University of Baghdad was crowned for obtaining the first place followed by the University of Kirkuk in the second place, while the Mustansiriyah University got the third place. The winners were awarded with the championship cups by the rector of the University of Baghdad and the participating delegations were honored with the creativity shield.
