The Department of Geography at the College of Education for Humanities (Ibn Rushd) at the University of Baghdad has organized a scientific symposium entitled (Demographic Waste for Young People “6-14” Years Old in Karkh District) delivered by Dr. Muhammad Sahib Abdul Latif and Dr. Hassan Ali Najim.

The event aimed to identify the most important reasons that led to waste in all its aspects and to develop plans and solutions that contribute to addressing waste, and dealt with a set of axes, including educational waste and social waste, as well as health waste and economic waste. The recommendations came to address this problem, the most prominent of which are the activation of the Compulsory Education Law and the Law of the Working Age, as well as activating the role of the family in raising and following up their children and encouraging children by watching some recreational and educational programs and providing a suitable environment for children enrolled in primary and intermediate schools.
