The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Islamic Sciences, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, has organized a scientific workshop on the methods of detecting words in Arabic dictionaries under the auspices of the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Neima Dahash Farhan and that was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ali Helou Hawass, head of department aimed at giving a detailed explanation of how to find the meaning and pronunciation of a word in the dictionary, how to find synonyms and antonyms and how to adjust their structure.
The lecturers gave an introduction to the types of dictionaries and how the user can choose the appropriate lexicon for a given specialization, refereeing to Arabic lexical schools. At the conclusion of this event, Dr. Ali Helou Hawass was awarded with a certificate of appreciation and a letter of thanks for his efforts in such events and calling the graduate students to choosing enlightening research ideas for their future studies.
