The dean of the College of Science at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim al-Qazzaz, has recently chaired the sessions of the second day of the Fourth International Conference on Geographic Information Systems and Smart Cities, which is held at and sponsored by the National Security Advisory. The scientific session included an important review on the latest developments of geographic information systems and smart cities that motivate public and private sector institutions to be part of the comprehensive transformation path towards digitizing details and governance of services in general.

The participants discussed and raised during this event the orientation towards the environment of smart sustainable cities, through the use of the Department of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Science of the University of Baghdad, which keeps pace with the specialized scientific field and provides work environments with qualified people through its academic programs at the level of undergraduate and postgraduate studies and its establishment of various scientific activities as well as the provision of staff specialized in developing software environments responsible for data incubator and indicators, opening the doors of cooperation and integration between state institutions and joints and strengthening their structure.
