The College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad has organized a workshop entitled (The Role of Iraqi Women in Facing Crises and Conflicts) via the virtual Google Meet service, in the presence of a number of professors and students of undergraduate studies and postgraduate studies. The workshop aimed to expand the involvement of women in peacekeeping operations and conflict prevention.

The workshop also included several topics, the most important of which was the discussion of the Law on the Maintenance of Security and Peace 1325 and addressing the effects of war on women and the contribution of women in resolving conflicts and achieving sustainable peace. The researchers recommended to increase women’s participation in all forums, including supporting special and temporary measures, and the transfer of the culture of conflict resolution in community through holding educational workshops and seminars in the regions of Baghdad and other provinces, along with taking into account the privacy of women and involving them in the processes of maintaining security and building peace, especially in conflict-affected areas.
