The Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad has organized its Twenty-First Annual Scientific Conference on the (Regional and International Rivalry in the Middle East) in the presence of the rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi.
The conference included the presentation of more than twenty-five research papers that focused on the regional and international competition and its impact on the conditions of the Middle East and on the security situation on Iraq, because of its oil and mineral resources in addition to the region’s important geopolitical position in general for Iraq is a passage for transport routes, communications and oil transport and thus it falls within the interests of various competing regional and international countries concerned. The participants then submitted a set of recommendations to the Iraqi decision-makers regarding how to deal and negotiate in foreign policy with these countries that use all means for their interests.
