The members of the Scientific Committee for Biomechanics at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bushra Kazim, Prof. Dr. Huda Shehab, Prof. Dr. Intisar Kazim, Prof. Dr. Zeina Abdul Salam and Dr. Iman Sabeih, in cooperation with a lecturer from the Arab American University in Palestine, Prof. Dr. Samer Abu Eid, and a lecturer from the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Faeq Al-Zuwaini, have organized a workshop for postgraduate students of the Arab American University and University of Baghdad entitled (Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Biomechanics Towards Professional Achievement and Empowerment and Promoting Scientific Research) chaired by Prof. Widad Kazim Majeed.
Dr. Abu Eid gave an online lecture entitled (Biomechanics Applications in the Professional Field and Scientific Research) focusing on the most important fields concerned with evaluating the basic movements of the musculoskeletal system, motor learning and its development in humans, hierarchy of motor performance patterns, and the role of biomechanics applications in professional empowerment and enriching scientific research, innovating training based on the speed variable.
Then Dr. Faeq Al-Zwaini also gave a lecture entitled (Sports and Artificial Intelligence), reviewing the difference between the concept of intelligence and artificial intelligence, the first represents the total ability to work purposefully, think rationally and deal effectively with the environment, while the second is intelligence that is made within computer programs to resemble and simulate natural intelligence in humans with full properties, explaining its characteristics of the ability to learn from experience and expertise, the ability to apply the knowledge gained, dealing with complex cases, solving problems, fast reaction, improving the level of players, building sports training programs, discovering sports talents, reducing the costs of operating sports events, increasing the income of sports clubs, simulating the performance of play, pointing to the intelligence systems represented by the expert, robot, neural networks, fuzzy logic, genetic algorithm, hybrid systems. At the end of the workshop, the assistant dean for scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhad Haseeb, granted books of thanks and appreciation to the participating lecturers in appreciation of their efforts and effective contribution in this event, wishing them success in the service of our beloved Iraq.
