Dr. Warqaa Muhammad Rahim, a professor from the center for strategic and international studies at the University of Baghdad, has recently published a research paper entitled (The phenomenon of corruption in Iraq: its political and social effects) in an international journal listed in Scopus. In this study, she discussed the phenomenon of corruption in Iraq, which is an old phenomenon that hit most of the joints of the Iraqi state and that has increased significantly after 2003, as the job was sometimes used for personal purposes and gains, which led to the spread of the phenomenon of corruption, and this in turn led to the state of political instability in Iraq and the entry of ISIS gangs to some Iraqi provinces, and this phenomenon has increased to the extent that Iraq has become in the advanced ranks in the most corrupt countries, according to reports of the Transparency International Organization. The research focused on the spread of corruption in Iraq that has several reasons and many significant effects, whether they are being political, social or economic effects.
