The Department of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Science has organized a seminar with the participation of two lecturers in the Seventh International Scientific Conference on Pure, Applied and Technological Sciences held in Istanbul, Turkey, in the presence of a number of professors, researchers and postgraduate students.

The seminar aimed to review the objectives of the conference, which called for the formation of a research platform for applied and technological knowledge, working on the research of participants in this field in specialized scientific journals, and internationally accredited, especially in the field of pure, applied and technological scientific studies by keeping pace with the various developments in the fields of applied technological sciences, and establishing bridges of scientific communication between researchers in this field all over the world. The panel discussion was delivered by Dr. Ibtisam Fadel Khanjar and Dr. Bushra Ali Ahmed, including a review of the research delivered at the Seventh International Scientific Conference on Pure, Applied and Technological Sciences, sponsored by the Rimar Academy with the participation of a number of researchers of different nationalities, which was entitled “Using the classification of satellite images to estimate the water level in the southern marshes after the flood wave”, as the research discussed satellite images that reviewed the water level of the marshes located in southern Iraq after the waves of floods swept them, which helped to transform scientific ideas into realistic practical applications that contribute to the development of contemporary human life, especially in this regard.
