The College of Education for Pure Sciences (Ibn Al-Haitham) at the University of Baghdad hosted recently a delegation of gifted high school students on a scientific trip to the laboratories of the scientific departments at the college, who were received by the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Firas Abdul Hamid Abdul Latif, and the head of the department of physics, Assist. Prof. Dr. Samira Ahmed Ibrahim.
The guest students made a tour to the scientific laboratories of the department of physics, where they watched some scientific experiments conducted at the atomic laboratory for undergraduate studies, as well as the light and optics laboratory, and the laboratory of devices. These scientific trips carried out by schools aimed to activate the role of the college and the university in scientific and educational cooperation with community institutions and to benefit from scientific laboratories in supporting the youth in the community with creative ideas.
