Dr. Shaima Majed Al-Haboubi, a lecturer from the Department of Policies and Legislation at the Center for Women’s Studies, has participated in the scientific symposium entitled (Combating Violence against Women), which was held by the Mustansiriya Center for Arab and International Studies in cooperation with the Center for Women’s Studies, with a research paper on the (Violence against Women in Iraq: reality and types), in conjunction with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the initiative to mobilize society and raise awareness to prevent violence of all kinds, with the participation of a number of professors and researchers.

The research dealt with the concept of violence and the causes of violence against women in society and ways to protect against the risks to which women are exposed, in addition to introducing laws and legislation that preserve the status of women and developing community awareness towards reducing all forms of violence against women.
