Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, the rector of the University of Baghdad, in his capacity as Chairman of the Committee, has attended the Fourth International Scientific Conference entitled (From Traditional to Digital Media: Technology as a Bridge to Digitize New Media or a Break with Traditional Institutions), which was sponsored by the Department of Linguistic and Translation Studies at the House of Wisdom in Baghdad, under the auspices of the President of the Iraqi Scientific Academy and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the House of Wisdom, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hussein Al-Yassin, and with the participation of Iraqi, Arab and international figures.
The conference included researches presented by professors that dealt with the war of terminology and cybermedia in the Russian-Ukrainian war, a vision on the language of propaganda, the discourse of platforms, the language of media, the Western communication discourse directed towards the Arab audience, as well as the transformations of communication behavior from traditional to digital media and its relationship to media linguistics, as well as the Arabic language and the discourse of sarcasm (the use of irony to mock) on Facebook. The rector also indicated that this conference dealt with the advantages and challenges of digital media, as well as the challenges faced by the recipient.
