The college of dentistry at the University of Baghdad has organized a symposium delivered by Prof. Dr. Akram Faisal Al-Huwaizi, in the presence of a number of faculty members on the (Versatility of Bracket Prescription) with the aim to describe fifteen cases in which the same pieces are used for other teeth other than those designed for them in order to obtain new advantages of this device suitable for the treatment of different cases of malocclusion.
The seminar included fixed orthodontic appliances of different types, the most famous of which are Roth and MBT, where each device consists of 20 different pieces, each designed for a tooth, noting that the malocclusion cases are diverse and the requirements for their treatment are different. The recommendations of this study stressed on the use of fixed orthodontic appliances flexibly to suit each case and avoid using the same method to treat all diverse cases.
