The College of Education for Women at the University of Baghdad, under the supervision of the Department of Sociology and in cooperation with the National Security Advisory and in coordination with the Center of Excellence, has established a training program entitled (Cybersecurity and Social Engineering) in the presence of the Strategic Affairs Advisor Saeed Al-Jayashi and the follow-up of the General Coordinator of the programs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Zainab Muhammad Saleh, and the special training program in which students of the diploma equivalent to the master’s degree in development and community security and the peace-building program gave lectures, namely Prof. Muhammad Abbas Al-Saadi and the engineer Rafid Qasim Al-Azzawi lectured.

The training program aimed to introduce the term social engineering, the science of penetrating minds, identifying the stages of social engineering and how to prevent them by securing devices and using protection programs for them, and emphasizing the information of the security authorities in the event of falling as a victim of social engineering. The training program reached a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the need to raise the degree of awareness of the citizen in social engineering, emphasize the protection of personal accounts through social networks, spread technical awareness, emphasize on university students and professors in particular to receive sufficient awareness and training to confront any electronic intrusions and try to reduce them, and universities and schools should establish such programs and training courses to confront and deter the dangers of social engineering, opening prospects of coordination with other academic institutions.
