Al-Iraqiya Media Network hosted Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad to highlight the first exhibition of scientific products and patents held recently. During the meeting, the rector stated that more than 400 scientific and practical products, including a large number of patents were presented in this exhibition, pointing out that we have gained the best places in world university rankings, so the aim of this academic event is to enhance the economic marketing and implementation of our scientific products in local markets, adding that those products reflected several projects conducted by faculty members and students who tried to have a positive return to industrial, agricultural and health areas through coordination with state departments and private sector.
The rector of the University of Baghdad said that the some innovations included the manufacture of a self-driving car; an eye movement based electronic wheel chair for disabled persons, in addition to discovering a new stem cell therapy and others. Dr. Munir al-Saadi concluded his meeting with declaring an ongoing plan for the inauguration of an international stem cell center after obtaining preliminary approvals from a specialized American institution, as well as the establishment of an English language center in cooperation with a British institution so as to help students to master the English language and develop their conversation skills, promising that the university is preparing to hold a permanent exhibition of new scientific products which will open the door for investors to work in accordance with the requirements of the labor market.
