Al-Khwarizmi college of engineering at the University of Baghdad has provided its laboratories with the latest types of industrial robotic arms under the direct supervision of the dean of the college Prof. Dr. Maher Yahya Salloum for the development of infrastructure and modernization of laboratory equipment used in practical experiments in the field of mechatronics engineering. It is noteworthy that these robots were recently imported from JAKA Robotics Co. that is a high-tech company aiming at innovative breakthroughs in many applications such as drive control integration, integral joints, free-drive programming and wireless connection located in Shanghai, China.

The rapporteur of the department of mechatronics engineering, lecturer Dr. Ahmed Rahman Jassim stated that these robotic arms are the first of its kind in Iraq used in scientific research institutions and that this robot consists of a control unit through which the robot is controlled via a 6-axis arm including a feature for saving locations. This initiative comes to ensure keeping up with the latest technological developments and to enrich the educational process in the college and to prepare a generation capable of meeting any scientific challenges.
