The Women’s Studies Center at the University of Baghdad has organized recently a training course entitled “Preparing effective women leaders in political life” with a wide participation of public and academic figures. The course aimed at demonstrating the competence of women in confronting problems and tackling them properly, especially those related to State and community, which would give them an advantage in assuming high positions in the country to contribute in solving problems. The lecturers discussed other issues regarding women representation in political decision-making which is a general problem that needs to be addressed seriously.
The course also included valuable information in the field of training women leaders who are able to enter and succeed in political positions for the common good and recommended the need to activate the laws that stipulate equality, because women are capable of bearing responsibility and cannot be removed from strategic decision-making, as well as working to create an understanding and cooperative society whose members and sects stand together to reach a free life where every individual enjoys full rights.
