Assist. Prof. Dr. Maysoon Abdul Zahra, a professor from the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Branch at the college of pharmacy presented an online lecture entitled (Biotechnology in medical field) with the aim to address the latest research and biotechnological methods related to medical aspects, with a focus on the COVID-19 pandemic.
At first the professor discussed the classification of biotechnology departments, biotechnology applications common in clinical fields, then she dealt with the Covid-19 virus widely spread across the world and some modern applications of biotechnology used to curb this disease. Dr. Maysoon Abdul Zahra also proposed some recommendations to focus on the follow-up of the latest biotechnological applications and trying to apply them at the health and scientific research levels, especially with regard to therapeutic and diagnostic perspectives.
