The department of archeology at the college of arts has organized recently a training workshop entitled (Handcrafts in the Ancient and Islamic Civilizations) in the presence of a number of professors and students. The workshop aimed to preserve the Iraqi heritage and handicraft industries that were common in the past from extinction through the reproduction of several traditional crafts, which characterize various Iraqi governorates within the framework of the strategy adopted by state departments for supporting as well as nurturing heritage crafts since they are the main representative of the elegance and originality of our national and cultural identity and as a genetic imprint of creativity, beauty and perfection.
