The department of computer engineering at the University of Baghdad held an electronic symposium on how to invest autonomous adaptivity and self organisation (SO) techniques into future cellular networks by integration with the features of the Centralized-RAN, sometimes referred to as (Cloud-RAN) in order to meet the challenges of the next generations.

Dr. Zainab Hassan Fakhry delivered a lecture entitled “Download self-optimization-based capacity expansion techniques for the fifth generation cloud radio access networks” in the presence of a number of professors of the department in which she explained how to include the great potential of intelligence and self-management systems in the latest generations of mobile networks. Also she discussed the centralized-RAN, which is a cloud computing-based architecture for radio access networks that supports 2G, 3G, 4G and future wireless communication standards effectively through adaptation with the changing capacity requirements along with maintaining high quality of service.
