The department of chemistry at the college of science for women held a virtual workshop on (Using sterilizers to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus) presented by Dr. Dhiaa Nasser Shaalan via FCC platform with the participation of a large number of professors and students concerned in this matter. The workshop aimed to explain the dangers of not using disinfectants and sterilizers correctly and in the quantities required to fulfill their purpose and their excessive or inappropriate use that may lead to many symptoms, including itching, skin abnormalities or allergies.

Dr. Dhiaa Nasser explained that the current infectious pandemic might be transmitted directly from one person to another through droplets or saliva when coughing or when touching tools contaminated with, so there is a possibility of remaining for a relatively long time on surfaces. The participants called for taking more caution when using sterilizers and disinfectants as substances that kill germs or stop their growth on living membranes to help prevent infection.
