The criminal law branch, in coordination with Ibn Sina e-learning unit at the college of law has organized a scientific workshop entitled (Financial Corruption Crimes) through Google Meet service delivered by the Assist. Prof. Dr. Kazem Abdullah Hussein. The workshop aimed to introduce the nature and types of financial crimes and the role of competent authorities in conducting preliminary investigations and the subjectivity of legal procedures in the criminal cases that arise from.

The participants called for a legislation to abolish any kind of immunity that prevents the launch of criminal cases in the field of financial corruption, as well as the development of a legal text that prohibits the travel of every accused of corruption crimes immediately after the criminal case is launched against him, as well as the development of a legal text that decides to place a seizure on the accused’ money. The workshop recommended the abolition of the Integrity Commission, given that the authorities originally competent to investigate crimes are the judicial authority, in addition to activating the role of the Public Prosecution as a representative of the social body through its authority, along with others, to report on crimes and the obligatory presence in court sessions in felonies and misdemeanors, as well as the establishment of an Iraqi public prosecution, preventing the police or any other non-judicial body from making and investigating in criminal cases.
