Prof. Dr. Ahmed Wahid Nasser, the assistant rector for administrative affairs at the University of Baghdad held lately a meeting with specialized committees to prepare and follow up the safety and civil defense requirements. The meeting included an emphasis of the periodic maintenance and validity of fire extinguishers and wet pipe system at the presidency of the University of Baghdad in coordination with the department of reconstruction and projects and the follow-up department, as well as emphasizing on turn off electrical appliances and refrigeration systems when not in use.
The committee members also recommended preventing the use of electric heaters or smoking inside buildings, monitoring generators and dropped ceilings, as well as forming a committee comprising of members of the departments of Diwan, follow-up and reconstruction to submit a periodic report every three months to the central committee formed for this purpose along with other sub-committees at the university’s research and service centers.
