Under the auspices of the rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, the college of agricultural engineering sciences launched its first million tree campaign aimed at the planting of one million trees and shrubs produced in the nurseries of the Agricultural Division, in coordination with the college of agriculture at Al-Muthanna University.
A group of seedlings were planted at the college’s deanship park and at the university’s gate at first, including several garden designs conducted by a specialized team of the department of architectural engineering. It is noteworthy that such initiatives were made in accordance with the directives of the ministry of higher education and scientific research towards making our Iraqi universities as sustainable environments full of green spaces.
