The college of medicine at the University of Baghdad, in collaboration with its counterpart at the University of Babylon and AstraZeneca multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company has organized an expanded scientific conference on the occasion of the World Bronchial Asthma Day entitled “Bronchial Asthma and Coronavirus: challenge and ambition” at the Babylon Hotel in Baghdad in the presence of a number of professors and physicians.
The conference that was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Wahib Salman, consultant thoracic and respiratory diseases at the college has included an extensive review of the updates in research, treatment and diagnosis of bronchial asthma and its relationship to Covid-19 pandemic as well as the recent campaign for the national immunization and vaccination programme. The conference concluded its sessions with a number of recommendations that called for the commitment to wear face masks, social distancing, taking vaccines by asthma patients, as well as the use of the same therapeutic methods for asthma patients with Coronavirus disease.
