The college of physical education and sports sciences at the University of Baghdad hosted recently the events of the Iraqi Clubs Championship for Athletics in all its categories with the broad participation of both sexes, in the presence of His Excellency the minister of youth and sports Adnan Dargal and the minister of industry and minerals Mr. Manhal Aziz al-Khabaz.
His Excellency the minister of youth and sports stressed in his speech the importance of holding such championships to create an atmosphere of competition among university students to develop their talents and honoring the winners, especially since the ministry is the only government entity responsible for sponsoring and supporting youth and sports in Iraq. Dr. Talib Faisal, the Athletics Federation President praised the high organization of this championship under the auspices of the minister of youth, hoping success in his work to serve athletes in Iraq.
