Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad, accompanied by his assistant for scientific affairs Prof. Dr. Abdul Kareem al-Sammarraie and the director of the dormitories Prof. Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan visited yesterday the college of education for pure and applied sciences (Ibn al-Haitham) and chaired one of the college’s council session in the presence of its dean Prof. Dr. Firas Abdul Hamid Abdul Latif and his assistants for administrative, scientific and student affairs as well as heads of departments.
At the onset of the meeting, Dr. Munir al-Saadi called for opening of an exhibition of scientific outputs in the service of our community, including patents and authored books in coordination with other academic and government institutions in order to market any products developed by the faculty members and students that have an economic feasibility so that to attract funding for field projects and applied research. On the sidelines of the meeting, the rector opened an exhibition that included 150 scientific products, stressing the need to raise the academic status of the college through such initiatives.
